Wokingham Borough Council have today launched a public consultation on plans to introduce moving traffic enforcement at more locations across the borough.
Moving traffic enforcement uses cameras to help make sure drivers follow road rules, such as no entry signs, banned turns and yellow box junctions. If these rules are broken, a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) may be issued.
The proposals aim to improve road safety, reduce congestion, support public transport and improve air quality. The suggested locations are based on traffic data and local evidence, focussing on areas where drivers are not always following the rules.
Before any decisions are made, they want to hear from residents, businesses and road users to help make sure the proposals work well for everyone.
