On Sunday 22nd March 2026 Earley Town Council organised the Huge Earley Litter Pick (HELP), in conjunction with Earley Adopt a Street Initiative (EASI) and the Earley Environmental Group, as part of the Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean.
This year 65 amazing volunteers from across the Earley community enjoyed beautiful sunshine whilst collecting an impressive 66 full bags of litter, plus a selection of other interesting items.
A total of 8 routes starting at various locations around Earley were led by a mix of volunteer group leaders. These leaders included Town Councillors, ETC staff, members of the Lower Earley McDonalds branch and the 99th Reading Scouts.
Many of the volunteers this year commented that there was much less litter to pick than in previous years and this is largely due to the dedicated volunteers of EASI who regularly pick individual streets throughout Earley all year round.
