Last week the Town Council held two planting sessions of trees which were awarded by The Woodland Trust as part of their Community Tree Pack initiative.
The first session saw 315 native UK saplings planted at Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve by members of the community. At the second session, a further 105 saplings were planted at Redhatch Copse by our Wednesday Volunteers.
The planting is part of an ongoing project by Earley Town Council to improve biodiversity across all of its sites. The trees planted will provide valuable habitat and food sources for many species, as well as establishing the next generation of trees.
We would like to thank all of the volunteers who braved the chilly temperatures and helped make this happen.
