Loddon Garden Village – planning application submitted


The University of Reading’s hybrid planning application for part of the Loddon Garden Village has now been submitted to Wokingham Borough Council.

 

Details of the planning application, reference number 252498 and planning documents can be found on Wokingham Borough Council’s planning portal.

 

The application outlines plans for: –

  • Up to 2,800 new homes, including 100 custom and self-build plots
  • Two primary schools and one secondary school
  • A vibrant District Centre and two Local Centres offering shops, services, a healthcare centre and a supermarket. 
  • A sports centre,
  • Space for gypsy and traveller families, a new cemetery and an electricity substation
  • A large new country park and more than 58 hectares of green space for walking, nature and recreation
  • Improvement to local wildlife and nature, aiming for a 20% increase in biodiversity
  • Construction of new roads, bridges over the M4 and River Loddon, and new walking and cycling routes to improve connection.

The consultation period for comments is 4th November 2025 – 16th January 2026 and comments can be submitted via Wokingham Borough Council’s planning portal, using reference number 252498.
