Wokingham Borough Council are asking residents for feedback on their draft recommendations as part of its Community Governance Review (CGR) to ensure the arrangements for the towns and parishes within the Borough are effective, representative and fit for the future.
A CGR must be carried out every 10 to 15 years and the council’s last review was done in 2016, it is a legal requirement, where they review how people are represented to ensure it is appropriate.
As well as potential changes to town and parish council boundaries, the review will also consider the electoral arrangements, such as the number of councillors and warding arrangements.
Wokingham Borough Council invited feedback on the current arrangements during a public consultation, which ran for 12 weeks from Friday 31st January to Friday 25th April. Following this feedback, the council published draft recommendations and is now inviting further input, this public consultation is now open and runs until 13th November 2025, further information is available on the council’s Engage Wokingham Borough platform.
