Could you spare some time to help us support older and disabled residents who are unable to maintain their own garden? This would bring back the benefits of having a safe and tidy space to enjoy the outdoors and mix with neighbours, making such a difference to their everyday lives.
The Wokingham Volunteer Centre is a local charity that runs a successful basic gardening service but now needs to grow its capacity. They are looking for Team Leaders (paid roles) and Volunteers.
Team Leaders – 1 or 2 mornings per week including collecting and driving the van with all equipment, leading a small team of volunteers and liaising with the Project Coordinator. May suit recently / partly retired person or anyone keen to support this vital project. Salary £245 per month for one morning per week (up to 5 hours).
Volunteers – 1 or more mornings per week, working as part of a small committed team to take care of our clients’ gardens, mainly mowing, trimming and keeping hedges tidy and, of course, having fun doing it! Selection of rounds across the Borough / own transport required.
