Earley Green Fair 2022

Earley Town Council was delighted to see the return of its Green Fair on Saturday 6th August at the Maiden Erlegh Lake and Nature Reserve after its enforced break during the pandemic. The weather was perfect as hundreds of visitors browsed the numerous stalls and the air was buzzing with people catching up with old friends and making new ones.

Traditionally, the ethos of the Green Fair has been all things environment and 2022 was no different. There were a variety of stalls offering information and advice on topics such as hedgehog rescue, badgers, butterflies and moths, as well as stalls offering items for sale, such as upcycled furniture, handmade jewellery, books and second-hand garden tools. A number of community groups and local charities also had a presence at the Fair and throughout the day music was performed by the Trinity Concert Band.

Among the many stallholder activities this year, Earley Town Councillors ran a drawing competition with Deluxe Bug Hotel prizes on offer. The standard of entries was very high and the Town Mayor, Councillor Tahir Maher had the honour of judging the competition.

The winners were: – Under 5yrs – Everly, 6 – 10yrs – Lexie, Over 10yrs – Rowan

The Town Council would like to thank all those who attended on the day and looks forward to seeing everyone at next year’s fair. Earley Town Council’s Green Fair is held the first Saturday of August each year.
