Oak Tree School Consultation Opens

Earley Town Council has been informed that the proposed Oak Tree School has been approved by the Department for Education for the ‘pre-opening’ phase with a proposed opening in September 2022.

The new Oak Tree School is proposed to open for up to 150 children and young people from Year 1 to Year 13 with complex needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnoses.

This consultation period runs for 6 weeks, from 12:00 noon, Monday 07 June 2021 until 12:00 noon, Monday 19 July 2021.

The Maiden Erlegh Trust are keen to obtain residents opinions and thoughts, and although they are committed to following all government health advice that is currently in place, they are equally committed to ensuring that the community remains central to the new school.

All are welcome to attend their drop-in events:

Drop-in event 1:

  • Wednesday 30June 2021, between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm
  • at Maiden ErleghSchool, Silverdale Road, Earley, RG6 7HS

Drop-in event 2:

  • Thursday 15July 2021 between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm

This will be an opportunity to meet members of the Trust, ask questions and share your views.

If you would like to attend one of these events, it is essential that you book a place through their Booking Form. Due to the varying Covid regulations they need to maintain a register of all stakeholders who would like to attend the events, including drop-ins, in case they need to contact people to move the event to a virtual meeting online. It will take you less than a minute to complete and will ensure you receive the most up to date information about the drop-in events, stakeholder consultation and project progress.

To share your views, you can also fill in an online survey on this link.
