Around one in three people who have Covid-19 have no symptoms and will be spreading it without realising it. Widening community testing to those showing no symptoms (called ‘asymptomatic’), will help find people who are infected and infectious but unaware that they might be spreading the virus.
During lockdown, Wokingham Borough Council are offering community testing to critical and keyworkers who regularly leave their home to go to work. The test used is called a Lateral Flow Test and it delivers the results within around 30 mins.
WBC are in the process of expanding their current Lateral Flow Test pilot at their Shute End offices and are inviting keyworkers forward for testing. For the full list of workers who are eligible, as well as further information and details on how to book, please check the WBC website.
