Earley Town Council have received notice that essential bridge investigation works will commence shortly on the A4 London Road, between the Shepherds Hill Roundabout and the junction of South Drive and A4 Bath Road. These works will be delivered through the Wokingham Highways Alliance, which comprises of Wokingham Borough Council, WSP and Volker Highways.
These works were initially planned for March but were postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions on non-essential works.
The works will now take place overnight from Monday 19 October 2020 at 8pm to Tuesday 20 October 2020 at 6am.
To enable WBC to carry out the works safely, the Twyford-bound carriageway of the A4 London Road between Shepherd’s House Roundabout and the junction of South Drive and A4 Bath Road shall be closed during the works. Local diversion routes will be in place and signed for local traffic.
The diversion route will be A4 Bath Road, A4 New Bath Road, A321 Waltham Road, A321 Hurst Road, A321 Broadwater Lane, B3030 Lodge Road, B3030 Davis Street, B3030 Robin Hood Lane, A329 Reading Road, A329 Wokingham Road, B3350 Church Road, B3350 Pitts Lane and A4 London Road.
Access for residents and businesses within the boundary of the closure will be maintained.
