Fishing at Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve 2020

As you may be aware, in view of the recent easing of lockdown measures, Government has advised that the activity of fishing can be resumed.

We have now carried out a risk assessment to ensure that the Council can allow fishing at Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve whilst meeting Government guidelines, including the 2 metre social distancing rule and we are pleased to announce that fishing may resume when the fishing season starts, on 16th June 2020.

However, we will be applying Covid 19 Guidance for fishing at Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve and we would ask that you read this guidance before applying for a fishing permit, which can be found on our Council Documents page.

If you wish to apply for a permit (during Covid 19):-

As our Helpshop is closed, to apply for a permit, please download the relevant Application Form which can be found on our Council Documents page.  Please note that due to current Covid-19 situation, you will need to submit your application form by post, along with the required documentation below:-

  • Passport sized photograph
  • Copy of your rod license (Adults & Juniors over 12)
  • Copy of your birth certificate (Juniors only)
  • Stamped Addressed Envelope (for us to send your permit to you by post)

As we are unable to provide a training session for junior applicants, junior applicants will need to fish with an adult, who is from their household.
