COVID 19 – Wokingham Borough Update

Wokingham Borough Community Response has been set up to co-ordinate operations in the Borough.  Triaging through Wokingham Citizens Advice is working well to arrange prescription collection and set up a food distribution hub.  Follow up calls are being made to those in need, and up to date advice on COVID 19 can be found on the Wokingham Borough Council website.

As of 1st April:

  • 470 people have used the service, with Monday being the busiest to date with 91 calls responded to
  • 203 food parcels have been delivered, feeding 443 people
  • 50 prescriptions have been supported
  • 142 individuals have been receiving regular calls through the Link Visiting scheme
  • 90 volunteers have been serving, and we currently have enough to meet demand
  • 506 volunteer applications have been processed

Residents keen to help have been invited to put together Wellbeing Goody Bags as part of the Wokingham Borough Community Response.  These will be distributed to those in need in the community.  Please visit the Community Distribution Hub Facebook page for full details.
