As part of the upgrade to a smart motorway, the M4 will be closed in both directions between junctions 5 and 6 from 8pm on Friday 27th September 2019 to 6am on Monday 30th September 2019. Additional closures between junctions 6 and 8/9 are scheduled over the weekends of 15th-18th November and 29th November-2nd December.
