Share Your Thoughts on the Structure of Local Policing

Thames Valley Police are asking for residents’ views on their review into the structure of local policing areas.

The review aims to enhance the service they provide, with no decision being made to the detriment of neighbourhood policing. Two proposals are being considered, which will both keep the same number of neighbourhood teams and seek to increase the number of officers in visible patrol roles.

The models under consideration are:

  • A continuation of the current 11 Local Policing Area (LPA) model, but with enhancements where possible, or

  • A five-area command model; the five areas would be Oxfordshire, Berkshire West, Berkshire East, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes.

More information on the force the proposals review, including the aims of each proposal can be found on the Thames Valley Police website.

An online survey has been created for communities, which closes on Friday 28 April.
