Green Fair 2026

The Green Fair returned to Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve on Saturday 1st August and what a busy day it was!

We were joined by a number of local small businesses selling homemade cakes, honey, jewellery, art, gifts, plants and much more. There were also a wide range of conservation charities, environmental groups and local community groups who engaged with the public and explained the wonderful work they do.

The stall run by Earley Town Council officers offered a free plant pot decorating and planting activity as well as a mini-Helpshop giving out general advice to residents and supplying recycling bags.

The Earley Repair Café stall explained to visitors the wide range of skills their volunteers have and the various items they are able to help repair and save from landfill. Meanwhile volunteers from Spokes ETC helped spread the word about the new bike workshop that has opened at Centrepoint Community Centre.

“Sweeping Beauty”, one of the newly named roadsweepers, was also onsite and visitors could ask Richard Bisset (WBC) all about how it worked.

With pizzas available from Pizzatron, snacks and refreshments from Maiden Erlegh Rotary Club, and ice creams from our regular ice cream van, visitors were sure not to go hungry.

The Town Council would like to thank all the stallholders and all those who attended and helped make the day such a successful and enjoyable event. The Green Fair takes place annually on the first Saturday in August and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
