This week, our Park Rangers helped the Wednesday Volunteers turn their hand to willow weaving.
“All the materials used came from the reserve. We had the volunteers coppice the two large willow trees from the Meadows, before stripping the branches off, and cutting the thicker ends up to create stake posts. Next, we hit the posts into the ground before starting to weave the strips of willow through. We will be working on this fencing again in the future.”
