The Earley Repair Café opened its doors to the public for the first time on Sunday 13th October.
The first session saw 47 items come through the door including 16 electrical items, 10 pieces of clothing, 4 bikes, 3 soft toys, 2 weighing scales and one shoe!
Our team of volunteers worked to repair as many of these items as they could, and also offered advice to customers on the items which were a little harder to fix or required replacement parts.
The Earley Repair Café would not be possible without all of the incredible volunteers that have stepped forward to get involved. From the amazing reception team welcoming customers, logging items and trying to keep everyone organised, to the talented repairers working tirelessly to try and fix as many items as possible, and the fabulous café team keeping everyone supplied with tea and cake throughout the session. It was wonderful to see such teamwork and a real sense of community.
Some of our wonderful volunteers just before tucking into a celebratory cake to mark the official opening of the Earley Repair Café!
The Earley Repair Café runs on the second Sunday of the month at Centrepoint Community Centre, with the next date being Sunday 10th November.
