Swan Support attended Maiden Erlegh Lake this week to help a cygnet with fishing line wrapped around their bottom beak and chin. The fishing line was causing tension in the cygnet’s throat leaving them struggling to eat.
Thankfully as this cygnet was spotted in time, after removing the fishing line and checking it over, the cygnet was able to be released back into our lake again – a huge thank you to Swan Support and our Park Ranger!
Fishing line and litter can pose a huge risk to wildlife, please ensure you dispose of all litter and fishing line responsibly.
