Garden Waste Collections to Restart on Monday 25 January

Garden waste collections will restart in Wokingham borough on Monday (25 January) following a suspension due to Covid-19. Veolia staff have now begun to return to work after self-isolation periods and additional staff have been drafted in to allow garden waste to be picked up as normal.

Residents due for collection from Monday (25 January) should put their garden waste out for collection as normal.

It was stopped on Tuesday (19 January) due to more than 40 per cent of staff at our waste collection contractor Veolia being off work due to the impact of Covid-19, with a small number of positive cases and most of the rest having to self isolate.

There will be no catch up collections for residents missed between 18 – 22 January . Please put out your bin on your next normal collection day.

This was the third temporary suspension made by Veolia in January due to disruption caused by the pandemic. WBC apologise  for the disruption but these suspensions meant the weekly general waste, recycling and food waste collections could continue as normal.
