Earley Town Council staff have shown their creative side and entered two scarecrows in the Lower Earley Scarecrow Trail. The theme of the event is ‘children’s books’ and so Bert the Chimney Sweep (Mary Poppins) can now be seen perched on the roof the Town Council offices in Radstock Lane and Jeremy Fisher (Beatrix Potter) is busy fishing from his boat in the middle of Maiden Erlegh Lake.
