Members of Earley Town Council’s Planning Committee have been considering the Statement of Common Ground between the Town Council and Highways England, prior to the examination in public of the proposals to turn the M4 into a “Smart Motorway”.
During consideration of the Statement, Councillors sought and received clarification regarding the installation of noise barriers and the replacement of existing barriers which may not reach current standards.
It was re-affirmed that the “quiet tarmac” would be applied to areas of the motorway which were resurfaced.
